It varies by individual, but many people see an increase to their credit score as early as the first month after starting the program. By using the dispute assistance features, you can increase your credit score by at least 20 points in 30 days and 50 points or more for those who use the product longer.

A recent TransUnion study found that reporting on-time rent payments to the credit bureaus led to an average credit score increase of 60 points, with the majority of people seeing an increase in their score after the first month of rent reporting.

Dispute Hub

More than 1 in 3 consumers have an inaccuracy on their credit report. These inaccuracies can negatively impact your credit profile and scores. Disputing inaccuracies with the major credit bureaus is an effective way to build your scores.

No, disputing inaccuracies does not negatively impact your credit score.

No. As you review your credit report, you can note inaccuracies directly in our system. Then, our system compiles your feedback into a formal dispute letter for submission.

Credit Report Review

In the credit report review, you can examine your reports from the major credit bureaus for inaccuracies and add items to dispute letters with the click of a button.

Negative items (missed payments, defaults, collections, or bankruptcies) and mismatched items (items reported by one credit bureau that are different from another) are flagged.

You should only dispute inaccurate credit report items. If you attempt to dispute an item that is accurate, the credit bureau may not make changes to your credit report.

You can refresh your 1-bureau or 3-bureau credit report and analysis once a month.

Rent Payment Reporting

Only when you use a reporting service like CreditBuilderIQ, as rent is not automatically reported to the credit bureaus in most cases.

A recent TransUnion study showed that adding rent payments to your credit report increased credit scores by an average of 60 points, but the exact impact will depend on each individual. If you have no credit profile, this is also a good way to start building one.

Rent reporting allows you to get credit for on-time rent payments by reporting them to the major credit bureaus. For CreditBuilderIQ members, you simply link your bank account from your secure member portal, select which payment is for rent, and we’ll handle reporting your confirmed payments on a monthly basis.

Utility Payment Reporting

In most cases, on-time utility payments don’t affect your credit unless you use a reporting service like CreditBuilderIQ.

Since most utility bills aren’t automatically reported to the credit bureaus, you need to use a reporting service like CreditBuilderIQ to add utility bills to your credit report.

Utility payment reporting allows you to report eligible utility payments (like gas, electricity, water, and phone) to the major credit bureaus. For CreditBuilderIQ members, you simply link your bank accounts from your secure member portal, select which payments are for utilities, and we’ll handle reporting your confirmed payments on a monthly basis.

Currently, CreditBuilderIQ can help you report utility bills for gas, electricity, water, and phone (including mobile and landline).
