In most cases, on-time utility payments don’t affect your credit unless you use a reporting service like CreditBuilderIQ.
Since most utility bills aren’t automatically reported to the credit bureaus, you need to use a reporting service like CreditBuilderIQ to add utility bills to your credit report.
Utility payment reporting allows you to report eligible utility payments (like gas, electricity, water, and phone) to the major credit bureaus. For CreditBuilderIQ members, you simply link your bank accounts from your secure member portal, select which payments are for utilities, and we’ll handle reporting your confirmed payments on a monthly basis.
